Kottayam , Saturday, January 16, 2010: Speaking at a seminar organized by Additional District Sessions Court here Kerala Congress leader KM Mani said, judicial system in the country should change according to time. Laws must be made more people friendly.
The report prepared by legal reform committee must be executed immediately after close scrutiny.
K.M. Mani, former Law Minister, also called for the strengthening of the judiciary in the country through increased transparency in the conduct and increased financial allocation for augmenting its infrastructure facilities for the speedy delivery of justice. Mani referred to the lack of budgetary allocation for judiciary on a par with the executive and legislature. According to him, there was an inherent air of confidentiality in the budgetary allocation to the judiciary and legislature as these documents were passed without discussion on the floor of the house. As such, the issue never comes up for public discussion, he pointed out.
