Kochi, Friday, June 17, 2011: The Kochi CBI special Court will today hear the SNC Lavalin case in which Pinarayi Vijayan, Communist Party of India (Marxist) Polit Bureau member is the seventh accused. The CBI will inform the Court on the trial proceedings of Claus Trendl and SNC Lavalin company, sixth and ninth accused in the case.

The officers of the Lavlin company had disagreed to accept the summons that was send to the office in Delhi. The SNC Lavalin scandal is financial scam related to the contracting of the government with a Canadian company, SNC-Lavalin which resulted in an alleged net loss to the exchequer of 374.50 crore.
