Kochi Metro: Central approval before Mar 31, says CM  

NewDelhi, Wednesday, 08 February 2012: Chief minister Oommen Chandy today informed that he had got an assurance that the centre approval for the Kochi Metro project would be given by March 31.

Before the central approval, the PIB board meeting would be convened soon. And on this assurance, primary works are progressing.

The PIB, under the Central ministry, comes under the secretary, Dept of Expenditure. Based on the directions of this committee alone the Union approval could be given.

After the Cabinet gives its approval, the Government can approach the Japanese Bank for financial aid. Only after completing these formalities, will Kochi Metro become a reality.
