Kochi, Friday, August 27, 2010: The Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) of the Commonwealth Games will arrive here tomorrow from the Union Territory of Lakshadweep.

On Sunday, the Kochi leg of the relay will start from the synthetic track at the Maharaja’s College and the baton will be carried by 81 people, including a galaxy of Olympians and other celebrities, Ernakulam District Collector M Beena told reporters here.

Prominent sportspersons who would be participating in the rally, include Olympians T C Yohannan, O Chandrasekhar, Shyny Wilson, Mercykuttan, Sebastian Xavier, K M Binu, Ranjith Maheswari and cricketers S Sreesanth and Tinu Yohannan.

The open vehicle carrying the baton will pass through the Naval Base, Jewish Synagogue, St Francis Church before reaching the Bolghatty Palace.
