Kottayam: Govt doctor suspended for misbehaving with woman

Kottayam, Friday, July 08, 2011: The government here today suspended a senior doctor following a complaint by a woman that he had misbehaved with her, hospital officials said.

The woman, wife of a patient, had submitted a written complaint to hospital authorities about the alleged misbehavior of the orthopaedic doctor, they said.

Meanwhile, activists of CPM’s youth wing Democratic Youth Federation of India and All India Democratic Women’s Association locked the principal of the medical college in her room for about an hour, alleging that the hospital has not taken any action against the doctor.

They alleged that the doctor had indulged in similar acts in the past against nurses and had faced disciplinary proceedings.
