Kozhikode, Monday, August 22, 2011: A 52-year-old police officer was found dead in official quarters in Chevayoor here on Monday. The dead has been identified as AP Anil Kumar, Kozhikode city police Deputy Commissioner.

According to preliminary reports the cop had died supposedly of a heart attack. The body has been kept at Kozhikode medical college hospital morgue.

Anil Kumar, a native of Kottayam, was appointed as the Kozhikode deputy commissioner one month back. He has also served as Railway Superintendent earlier.
