Kochi, Friday, 19 March 2010: The 9th accused of Kozhikode Twin blast case, Shammi Firoz (27) arrested here in Nedumbasseri aiport by the National investigating Agency (NIA). He was arrested on his arrival at Nedumbasseri airport from Adudabi.Later he was taken to Kozhikode.

The prime accused of Kozhikode twin blast case, Thadiyentvida Nazir had given information about Shammi’ s involvement in the case to NIA. Accordingly NIA had proclaimed a look out notice for Shammi Firoz. On confirming his presence in Abudabi, the accused was asked to surrender by NIA.

Shammi Firoz is a native of Parappangadi, Kozhikode. Apart from hi, NIA had also proclaimed look out notice to find Mohammed Azar and K.P Yusaf. They are also said to be staying in Abudabi as per the information got by the NIA.

The twin blast had occurred in the KSRTC bus stand and private mofusil stand at Kozhikode in March, 2006.
