Kozhikode twin blast: Shammy Firoz turns approver

Kochi, Saturday 20 March 2010: Shammy Firoz, the seventh accused in the Kozhikode twin blast case would turn approver. Firoz submitted an application regarding this before the special NIA court in Kochi today.
The court would record the testimony of Firoz on March 23.

Firoz was arrested by National Investigating Agency (NIA) at the Nedumbasseri airport, Kochi yesterday, on his arrival from Abudabi and was later taken to Kozhikode for questioning. It was in this questioning which longed 10 hours these stuffs were revealed.

Shammy Firoz confessed that he was unaware of Thadyentavida Nazeer’s intention of a blast, on his invitation to Markkas Mosque. On knowing that the covers handed over to him contained bombs he was shocked. However he was trapped and had no other way but to accompany to place the bombs in the bus stands. And later rang up the medias to inform about the bombs.

He also disclosed Nazeer was introduced by Abdul Rahim, who was killed at Kashmir, Who was a former friend. The report says that he also told the officer that he feels guilty on his involvement in the blast.
