KPCC demands more solatium for victims’ kin

Pulmedu, Saturday, January 15, 2011: today demanded that the State government must increase the compensation amount to the next of the kin of the Sabarimala stampede victims. Speaking to the reporters here today Chennithala asked government to increase the amount by 10 lakh.

The tragedy was a result of government’s incapability and the failure to make necessary crow control arrangements in the area. The incident shows the lapse from the side of government in setting up proper security measures in Sabarimala.

Government should make sure that judicial probe would be completed within the time period. If there is any lapse from the part of officials, then they must be punished, Chennithala said.
