Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday, January 27, 2010: With majority of KPCC members opposed to the re entry of K Muralidharan back in Congress, the possibility for Murali’s return has run shot. During the meet Ramesh Chennithala informed that, the KPCC also decided not to review its earlier decision taken in the executive meet held on August 2009 and leave the matter for high command to decide.
Muralidharan’s return was equally met with fierce opposition from Oommen Chandy, who said, the KPCC was extremely apologetic for not been able to execute the appeal of senior Congress leader K Karunakaran.
Leader K Karunakaran today morning had made personal appeal before KPCC executive members to back Murlaidharan’s re entry into Congress. K. Karunakaran asserted that the incumbent Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee cannot take a decision on re-admitting his son, K. Muraleedharan, to the party because the process for conducting organisational elections had already been initiated.
Speaking at the KPCC executive committee meeting, which started its session here on Wednesday morning, Karunakaran maintained that the executive should refer the decision to the party High Command.
Karunakaran has been campaigning for his son’s re-admittance to the party and the executive committee was convened to discuss his letter seeking a discussion on Mr. Muraleedharan’s return among other things listed on the agenda.
