Thiruvananthapuram, Tuesday 31 August 2010: The Kerala Tourism Development Corporation is working out a medical tourism package seeking to cash in on growing worldwide interest in the state as an ideal destination to combine treatment with holidaying.
The scheme is being evolved as a collaborative venture of superspeciality hospitals, foreign tour operators and state agencies, KTDC Chairman Cheriyan Philip said in a press release here today.
The greatest attraction of Kerala is that the treatment cost in the state for a number of ailments related to heart, nerves, bones and eyes, will be much less as compared to the US, European countries or the Gulf, he said.
KTDC would make arrangements for such tourists to stay in its hotels in prime locations like Munnar and the state capital at affordable rates.
