Kozhikode, Monday, October 10, 2011: Members of Kerala Union of Working Journalists today held an agitation here demanding speedy implementation of the Justice Majithia Wageboard recommendations for Newspaper and News Agency employees.
The agitation, jointly organised by the KUWJ and Kerala Newspaper Employees Federation (KNEF) in front of the Income Tax Office, was inaugurated by CITU State President K N Ravindranath.
This was part of the three-day protest called by KUWJ. Tomorrow, the agitation will be held before Ernakulam Telephone Exchange and on the third day it would be held in Thiruvananthapuram on October 12, according to M Sudheendrakumar, President, Calicut Press Club.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravindranath emphasised the need for united struggle against the anti-labour policies of the Centre. Police arrested the protestors and released immediately.
