Palakkad, Wednesday 9 February 2011: Politics should not come in the way of solving the issues of people and those related to the projects aimed at bringing about development, Revenue Minister K.P. Rajendran has said.
He was inaugurating a district-level distribution of title deeds on the collectorate premises here. Rajendran has said that the LDF Government in the State could distribute two lakh ‘pattayams’ (title deeds) during its tenure.
The Minister said the government was providing houses and other infrastructure to the beneficiaries. Another 4,500 families would be given title deeds in Palakkad district shortly.
As many as 3,100 families had been given title deeds at the Aralam farm in Kannur. They would also get houses and other facilities, he said. Under the Forest Rights Act, 30,000 tribal people in the State had been given title deeds for the land they held in forest regions.
