Kalpatta, Thursday, March 18, 2010: The activists of the KSKTU adivasi welfare committee encroached the land in 6 places in Wayanad. The encroachments took place with the support of the CPM, after a short interval of time.

It is reported that, around 400 family members were involved in the land encroachments. The encroachments took place in places- Mananthavadi, Panamaram, Batheri and Viathiri. The encroachments took place in the land which is owned by the companies like Harrison Malayalam Ltd. and Parrisons.

The encroachments took place one month back also and at that time the encroachments was concentrated on the land of the Harrison Malayalam Ltd. The case regarding the land strike in Wayand will be heard on 22nd of this month in the High Court. It is to be believed that the agitation was done to make the court aware of the importance of this issue.
