Latin American countries look to tie up with Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Thursday, October 08, 2009: A delegation of ambassadors of Latin American countries and Minister for Investments and Export Promotion of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic Domingo Tavarez had visited Kerala on Wednesday.

The visiting delegation said that Kerala and Latin American countries could build partnerships in tourism, agriculture, fisheries and .

Talking to the media after calling on Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, Ambassador of Venezuela Milena Ramirez, who is heading the delegation, said that the delegation was exploring the possibilities of agreements of cooperation between India and their countries.

The delegation had already toured seven States and the tour was very rewarding. Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to India Frank Hans Dannenberg Castellanos said the Centre of Exports and Investments of his country already had a partnership with the Technopark here, after a memorandum of understanding signed two years ago.
Some Keralites were working in Dominican Republic.

Other countries in Latin America were also interested in developing relationship with Technopark because of the similarities in climate, labor force and literacy and other factors.
