Thiruvananthapuram, Saturday 30 August 30, 2008: The ruling Left Front today made it clear that it has no objection to the government giving sanction to start more self-financing professional colleges in the state, provided that they accept the norms and conditions set by the government.

Briefing reporters on the decisions taken at the meet, LDF convener Vaikom Viswan said in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday that the new Colleges have to follow reservations norms and keep normal fess in 50% seats allotted to the college. The Colleges that give such undertaking will be given NOCs, Viswan added.

The LDF convener also informed that the meeting approved State Water Resources Minister’s arguments and recommended the state government to announce a hike in the water tariffs in the state.
