Local body polls: YC demands 50% representation  

Thiruvananthapuram, Sunday 29 August 2010: The Youth Congress Kerala leaders today demanded more representation in the upcoming local body polls.

The leaders informed that the national leadership that 50% of the party candidates should come from Youth Congress. The demand was raised before Youth Congress national general secretary Hiran Kumar Reddy, who is in charge of state affairs.

Meanwhile the Congress leadership is yet to reach a consensus regarding appointment of an ad hoc committee to head the Youth Congress. Hints are that a seven-member committee including KP Anil Kumar, T Sidhique, M Liju and Ibrahim Kallar would be appointed.

KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, and opposition leader Oommen Chandy have different views about the structure of the committee.
