Kochi, Saturday, April 25, 2009: The locals clashed with contractors today morning and lay siege to the Edachirra- Brahmapuram road, which is passing through the project area.

Earlier, in a meeting chaired by District Collector M. Beena hereit was decided to make the Edachira-Brahmapuram road motorable and decided to tar the 2.5-km Edachira-Brahmapuram-Karimukal road, except the stretch that passes through the land assigned to the proposed SmartCity project, at a cost of Rs. 70 lakh.
