Kochi, Thursday, December 23, 2010: The Kerala High Court has today deferred the hearing on Megha distributor’s plea filed against the lottery ordinance introduced by the State government, to January 3rd. The Megha agency’s plea pointed out that the conditions mentioned in the lottery ordinance were beyond the authority of the State.
The Kerala government had justified the new lottery ordinance in the High Court and said it was not contrary to central act and rules. The Central Government had also informed the High Court that the lottery ordinance brought by the State Government was not against the Central Lotteries Act.
