Pathanamthitta, Thursday, December 29, 2011: The Lord Ayyappa Temple at Sabarimala will be opened for the 21-day Makaravilaku season at 5.30 p.m. on Friday. Temple will be reopened for Makaravilakku festival, observed on January 15 and will remain open till January 21

Kalabhabhishekam will be conducted in the temple from January 1 to 14. Makarasamkrama pooja: The auspicious Makarasamkrama pooja will be held at the temple at 12.58 am on January 15.

Makaravilaku on January 15: The annual Makaravilaku, after adorning Thiruvabharanam on the idol of Lord Ayyappa , will be conducted at 6.30 p.m. on January 15.

Procession from Malikappuram temple : The annual procession of Malikappuram Devi will be taken out from the temple from January 15 to January 19.
