Thiruvananthapuram, Saturday, February 4, 2012: A 36-year-old man was stabbed to death near Vattiyoorkkavu here on Saturday morning. The dead has been identified as Sreekumar hailing from Kachani. He is a lineman at the Kerala State electricity board in PMG.

Sreekumar was a regular visitor to the house of the woman identified as Kunjumol. His visit irritated the woman’s two children. There was a verbal dispute over it very often.

Sreekumar and the woman’s son Shimmy (26) had a fight soon after a temple festival. The temple authorities intervened and calmed the situation. Soon after the incident, Shambu went to see Kunjumol and while coming back, Shimmy stabbed him to death.

The police later arrested Shimmy in connection with the murder. The body has been kept at the Medical college hospital morgue.
