Bangalore, Friday, 09 July 2010: The Bangalore Sessions Fast track Court on Friday denied PDP Chairman Abdul Nazer Maudani’s anticipatory bail plea on Bangalore blast case. The Court had pronounced that Maudani could be taken into custody for interrogation.
Maudani minutes before the verdict had informed the PDP activists that he had no hope in getting an anticipatory bail. He also urged his people to exercise restraint whatever the verdict might be. PDP activists were on a hunger strike since the hearing on the bail plea.
Maudani was named the 31st accused in the case.
The prosecution had informed the Court that the Maudani should not be granted anticipatory bail since the police wanted him in custody for further interrogation. Prosecution also informed the Court that the conspiracy for the Bangalore blast was done not only in Bangalore but also in many parts of Kerala. He had been charged with conspiracy, murder.
The Central investigating agencies and other investigating agencies had found out that the accused in the Bangalore blast case had connection with several other blast cases in the Country. Maundani’s foreign trip details were also produced before the Court yesterday.

The plea for the anticipatory bail was submitted as the Bangalore Chief Metropolitan court had issued a non-bailable warrant against him. However, the period of arrest warrant issued against the PDP leader had extended up to 20th of this month.
In the charge sheet submitted by Karnataka police, Maudani has been charged with treason, terrorism and attempt to murder in the Bangalore serial blast case.
They alleged that Maudani was part of the planning of the blast and he also helped terrorists for Jihad. It is alleged that he has instigated others to take extremist path .He is charged under IPC sections 219, 102, and 302. Maudani was charge sheeted along with 31 others for being involved in the 2008 serial blasts in Bangalore that left a woman dead and 20 others injured.
