Srinagar, Saturday 27 Sept 2008: Seven militants killed and two other jawans injured in three separate encounters across the valley in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said Srinagar on Saturday.

Official said four militants have been shot dead so far while an army jawan was also killed in the gunbattle in the area.
Search operations were going on in the area, the sources added.
Based on specific information that a group of militants were moving in high altitude region between Bandipora and Kangan, army launched search and destroy operation yesterday, the sources said.

In another encounter, security forces shot dead two militants in Kenigam village of Rajpora area in Pulwama district, the official said.

Two security forces personnel were injured in the gunbattle.
