Kochi, Saturday, April 17, 2010: Milma would recommend to the State government to hike the price of milk to rupees 5 per litre. The decision to recommend was taken in the meeting held by the Milma zonal unions in Kochi. The Milma Chairman Gopala Kurup told in the press conference that from the price hike to 5 Rs per litre, 4 rupees 60 paise must be given for the dairy farmers.
He added that the government would be asked to hike the price as soon as possible. Chairman added that it is the demand of the dairy farmers is justified since the cattle food price was increased. He explained that the dairy farmers are only getting rupees 15 per litre, they must at least get rupees 25 per litre.
