Thiruvananthapuram, Thursday 03 June 2010: Health Minister PK Sreemathy warned of taking action against doctors who refuse to join their new places of duty. The warning comes after doctors refrained from joining, in protest against mass transfer.
Sreemathy pointed out that doctors working in same places for long time are liable to be transferred. The doctors should accept the transfer order today and report for duty tomorrow.
Minister added that presently the bench strength of the doctors in government colleges is strong and there wont be any problem even if the doctors go on leave. She added that necessary doctors would be appointed on walk-in interview basis.
More than 1000 doctors including superintends were transferred Wednesday in a sudden move.
