Idukki,Saturday, 27 February 2010: Geologists would examine the site of Mullaperiyar where the new dam is to be built, on Tuesday. The experts from the Geological survey of India’s office at Chennai are to examine the land.

They would examine the soil structure and tensile strength of the land where the new dam is to be built.The authorities of water-irrigation department and SES department would accompany them.

In between this the construction of the fifth bore-hole to study the rock strength has been started. The team from LBS,Trivandrum is concerned with the bore-hole construction.
