Thiruvananthapuram, Tuesday, January 17, 2012: Various Hindu organisations alleged that the Mullaperiyar protests during the pilgrimage season is aimed at sabotaging the pilgrimage. Whether true or not, the fact remains that the Mullaperiyar agitation and related untoward incidents have affected flow of pilgrims from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Curiously, the appeal by hindu organisations to agitation council to postpone the hartal call on 18th of this month has also fallen on deaf ears.
