New Delhi, Tuesday, February 15, 2011: After a long spell of hibernation former KPCC president K Muraleedharan was today formally re-inducted to the Congress party. AICC general secretary in charge of Kerala, Mohsina Kidwai made the official announcement regarding his reentry into the party.

His six-year suspension was lifted after Opposition leader Oommen Chandy and KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala held a meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi this morning.

Muraleedharan was suspended from the Congress in March 2005 on disciplinary grounds.
