Earlier report
The Kerala High Court on Tuesday vacated its earlier directive not to hand over the land at Nadapuram in Kozhikode to the Border Security Force (BSF) for establishing a camp.
Justice Antony Dominic vacated the directive on a petition filed by the State government seeking to review the judgment containing the directive. The verdict was passed while disposing of a writ petition filed by M.M. George who claimed that the 60 acres proposed to be handed over belonged to him.
The land was taken over by the government as excess land. It was part of the 273.93 acres of excess land in the possession of the government. The court had ordered that the land should not be handed over to the BSF till the Vadakara Taluk Land Board decided on the application filed by George.
Additional Advocate-General Ranjith Thampan argued that the petitioner was unable to pinpoint where the 60 acres of land.
