Kochi, Saturday 27 March 2010: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) informed a Special Court for NIA that T. Nazeer, the prime accused in the Kozhikode blasts case, had connections with the LeT and the Indian Mujahidheen.

In a statement filed before the court, the NIA said two other accused in the case were absconding and living abroad. Efforts were on to arrest them. Muhammed Fayaz, another accused in the case, had died in an encounter with the Army in Jammu & Kashmir.

Nazeer had revealed his role and that of another accused, Yousef, in the crime. The NIA said investigation into the case was in progress. It needed sufficient time to complete the probe.

The court remanded in judicial custody the ninth accused in the case, Yousef.
