NH devpt: Govt submits report on relief package  

New Delhi, Tuesday, September 07, 2010: The State government has today submitted the draft plan of the compensation package regarding the NH development, to the Centre today. The government has submitted the report to the Union Minister for , Kamal Nath.

The government has urged in the compensation package that the NH width must be made to 45 metres.

The Public works department had suggested for a compensation package for the traders who would loose their shops during the land acquisition for the NH development. The draft plan moots construction of new shopping malls through out the highway. Malls would be constructed within a range of specified kilometers.

Traders would be allotted rooms on nominal rent in these malls. Those traders who loose their shops as part of the expansion process would be given special preference in the malls lying in proximity. This would be addition to the compensation amount provided.

The draft suggests to provide compensation according to the prevailing market value for buildings, houses and lands. The next cabinet meeting would take up the draft plan and reach a conclusion regarding the same.
