New Delhi, Sunday, December 27, 2009: The federal investigative agency NIA has taken over the probe into terror recruitment case as well as Kalamassery bus torching case after it was found that both had imprints of terrorism in it. Also the investigative team had found that the terror cases in Kerala were interlinked.
The terror case was busted after the Indian security forces, gunned down five infiltrators in Jammu and Kashmir last year while they were trying to sneak to Pakistan through LoC.
Also the NIA would be setting up an office in the state soon. Though the ongoing probe is in its final stages, the NIA would start investigation from the beginning.
During investigation by the Special Investigation Team it was found that, a terror brigade of 185 Keralites was selected by the Lashkar- e-Toiba and provided preliminary training at camps conducted in various centres in Kannur and Ernakulam
Nasir the key accused in the Kalamasserry bus burning case had admitted that he has been the key LeT operative recruiting Muslim youngsters from Kerala to join the insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir.
The NIA is already probing the Kozhikode twin blast case from the state after the international links of the terror modules involved in the blast were exposed, following the arrest of terrorists Tadiyantavide Nasir and Shafaz in Bangladesh, it is deemed to be a case fit to be investigated by the premier investigation agency
