Thiruvananthapuram, Thursday, 15 July 2010: Water Resource Minister N.K Premachandran today said in the Assembly that a ‘permanent data system’ would be introduced so as to prevent the water pollution in the State. Minister affirmed that a ‘mobile lab’ along with a ‘water card’ system would be established to check the quality of ground water. The first phase of this project that was to be implemented in Kozhikode would be made a state wide venture, if it proved a success over there.
Premachandran also said that the formation procedures for the River Basin Protection Authority for the safeguard of rivers and streams were in its final stage.
