North-east monsoon active over Kerala  

Thiruvananthapuram, Thursday, November 3, 2011: North-east monsoon has been active over Kerala. Rain occurred at most places in Lakshadweep. Heavy rainfall reports in cm are – Kollengode (Palakkad district) 12, Parambikulam (Palakkad district) 11 and Alappuzha, Chalakudy (Thrissur district) & Chittur (Palakkad district) 7 each.

The other chief amounts of rainfall reports in cm are – Alathur (Palakkad district) & Kumarakom (Kottayam district) 6 each and Kottayam & Thiruvananthapuram city 5 each. Another 45 stations reported rainfall of 1 cm to 4 cm. Karipur AP recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 220C.

Rain/ thundershower will occur at most places in Kerala and Lakshadweep. will occur in Kerala and Lakshadweep during next 48 hours.

Generally cloudy sky with a few spells of shower/thundershower, at times heavy for the next two days. No significant change is expected in minimum temperature which will be around 240C.
