Kollam, Thursday, July 02, 2009: The health department officials are on high alert after a NRI malayalee died near Kollam yesterday following suspected H1 N1 influenza. The throat swabs taken from the patient have been sent to National Institute of Communicable Diseases. The person who arrived from London two weeks back was kept at the quarantine after he showed symptoms of the disease.
Meanwhile, today morning two people who came from America and Ireland who showed symptoms of H1 N1 were sent to the isolation ward in Alwaye Taluk hospital.
At present there are four confirmed cases of H1 N1 cases in Kerala.
