New Delhi, Friday 05 June 2009: US President Barack Obama reaching out to Muslim world shows a perceptible change in the American attitude towards this community and Islam, IUML president E Ahamed said.

“Obama was speaking a language of heart and not force”, Ahamed, also the Minister of State for Railways, said.

On Obama’s remark that the US will not be prisoners of the past, he said, “let the US president starts from America.” In a landmark speech in the Egyptian capital warming up to the 1.5 billion Muslims around the world, Obama vowed to work for a “new beginning” between the US and the Muslim world calling for an end to the “cycle of suspicion and discord”.
