Kochi, Monday 1 June 2009: Opposition leader Oommen Chandy here today alleged that the statement of Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan that delay in SmartCity project is due to economic recession was misleading and finally proved baseless.

Tecom now revealed that they were not suffering from economic recession; the reason for the delay in project was the modifications made by the LDF when the UDF was in power so as to delay the implementation the project, Oommen Chandy added.

Oommen Chandy also asked the CPM to reply over the statement of CPI that SNC Lavalin case was not politically motivated.
