Thiruvananthapuram, Saturday, April 17, 2010: The Kerala State Opposition leader Oommen Chandy and KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala visited the house of Vishnu, who was hijacked along with several others from Africana ship off Somalian coast.
Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala consoled Vishnu’s father Vijaya Kumar, mother Geetha Kumari, and sister Vaishnu. Chandy told the media that the Central government would intervene in securing their release.

The two marine engineers as Roji B John of Pathanamthitta and V Vishnu, from Thiruvananthapuram were hijacked by somalian pirates on Apr 11.The duo were among the 11 Indians onboard the M V Rak Africana, which was hijacked near Seychelles enroute to Zanzibar.Among the 26-crew members in the ship, 10 are Tanzanians, 5 Pakistanis and 11 Indians.
Vishnu’s family had earlier taken up the matter to the offices of Non Resident Indians Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi and Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor.
