Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday 12 August 2009: In the wake of rejection of his overture on re entry to Congress, K Muraleedharan here today said that his sister Padmaja Venugopal was his enemy in previous birth.
There was no any harm to Congress if it remits him to party, Muraleedharan added.
In a big setback to former NCP state president K Muraleedharan, Congress in Kerala earlier decided against readmitting him to the party, but his father and veteran leader K Karunakaran, apparently unhappy, said the decision was “not unanimous”.
The decision to slam the door on Muraleedharan, former state unit president, who was suspended five years ago for “anti-party” activities, was arrived at the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) executive meeting here.
Briefing reporters, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala said the general feeling was against readmitting Muraeedharan as he had sought to “destroy” Congress in the state by joining hands with the CPI-M after leaving the party.
Apparently unhappy over the development, Karunakaran said the “KPCC executive did not take an unanimous decision.
