Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday, November 04, 2009: The Labour Commissioner has asked private enterprises which come under the Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, industrial units and other private establishments located in Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Kannur to give a paid holiday to their workers on polling day on November 7.

He asked them not to reduce the salary. Workers of establishments in other places should also be given a paid holiday on that day if they are voters of these constituencies.
