Kochi, Sunday, March 20, 2011: The prime accused in a case relating to a secret camp of Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activists at Panayikulam near Aluva on August 15, 2006, was on Sunday nabbed from Kochi. The accused identified as Nizar Ibrahim who was absconding was arrested from the Nedumbassery Airport would be handed over to the NIA soon.
The Union Home Ministry had transferred the case to the NIA for investigation on December 24, 2009. According to the NIA charge sheet, a secret meeting of SIMI was held in the Happy Auditorium at Panayikulam. The meeting was anti- Government and was seditious, inflammatory, creating religious animosity and above all provocative in nature.
17 accused persons entered into a criminal conspiracy to advocate, incite and abet unlawful activities for secession of Kashmir from India and to bring hatred and contempt towards the Government of India and, in furtherance of the said conspiracy, they committed the crime.
The accused persons were named as P. A. Shaduly, Abdul Rasik, Ansar, Nizamudeen, Shammi, Shameer, Abdul Hakeem, Nizar, Mohayudheen Kutty, Muhammed Nissar, Ashkar, Nissar, Salih, Hashim, Riyas, Muhammed Naisam and Nissar.
