Alappuzha, Thursday, November 19, 2009: After much awaiting, the special Investigation team head DySP Venugopal has submitted the charge sheet in the much controversial Paul Muthoot murder case before Ramankari First Class Judicial Magistrate today.

According to charge sheet Changanassery quotation gang leader Jayachandran is the first accused, meanwhile, Kari Satheesh who is said to have stabbed Paul Muthoot has been placed as the second accused. Court has given consent for conducting DNA test on Kari Satheesh and Sathar.

Twenty-five accused have been named in the charge sheet with 180 witnesses. Two notorious criminals Om Prakash and Puthenpalam Rajesh who is said to have traveled along with Paul Muthoot has been charged for destruction of evidence. They have been included as the 24th and 25th accused in the case.

The murder of Paul Muthoot George, scion of the Rs 20,000 crore Muthoot group of companies and son of its managing director Mutthot M George, has sent shock waves across Kerala. According to police, Paul was killed in the wee hours of 22nd August 2009 on the Alappuzha- Changanachery route, while he was traveling in a car along with some acquaintances.
