Next PB meet to discuss CM’s stand in lottery case  

Thiruvananthapuram, Sunday, January 02, 2011: The next Polit Bureau meeting that would be held on January 12th would discuss on ’s stand demanding a CBI probe into the Inter State lottery case. The decision regarding this was taken in the CPM State secretariat meeting held in Thiruvananthapuram today.

Achuthanandan had come under heavy criticism for his stand demanding a CBI probe into the lottery issue. Several leaders including Finance Minister TM Thomas Issac had raised criticism against CM’s stand in the issue.

Achuthanandan had on December 26th appealed to the Centre for initiating a CBI probe into the Inter state lottery case. In a letter addressed to the , Achuthanandan had sought permission for a CBI probe into the lottery case.

He wanted the economic deals connected with the lottery to be probed by the National Investigation Agency or the Central Bureau of Investigation. The Chief Minister pointed out that according to official information, business worth Rs.80,000 crore had been conducted during the last four years.
