Thiruvananthapuram, Tuesday 15 December 2009: PP Thankachan, UDF convener said that the Front is considering both PDP and NDF in the same manner. Speaking to the media here, he added that such small parties have no significance in state politics.

Attacking the CPM, the UDF convener alleged that the ruling party is still desirous of having alliance with PDP.

He urged the CPM leadership to publicly admit the mistake, if they have changed their view on PDP. Thakachan accused that Sufiya Maudani was inducted as an accused in Kalamassey bus burning case only after it became sure that she would be grilled by the central agencies and Karnataka police.

The tie-up the CPM had with PDP during the last Lok Sabha polls and after that resulted in the growth of religious fundamentalism and the ruling party had a hidden agenda in the alliance, Congress-led Front Convener P P Thanckachan told reporters here today.

CPM wanted to weaken Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), a partner in the UDF, he said. “PDP, RSS, BJP and NDF have no political relevance in Kerala politics and UDF approach to these parties is same,” Thanckachan said.
