Maudani’s arrest: PDP to start indefinite hunger strike

Kollam, Monday 14 June 2010: Moves against PDP Chairman Abdul Nazer Maudani will be fought legally and politically, party’s working chairman Poonthura Siraj said.

Reacting to the news that Maudani will be arraigned as an accused in 2008 Bangalore serial bomb blasts case, Siraj said the party would launch an agitation to secure justice for Maudani.

The PDP leaders will begin indefinite hunger strike in front of Maudani’s house at Anvarasseri from Wednesday.

Stating that Maudani is innocent, Siraj said he doesn’t have any covert or overt connection with the blast. There is conspiracy behind adding the name of an innocent person to the list of the accused, he alleged. PDP also suspects that there is an attempt to dilute the case by bringing in Maudani’s name, Siraj said. The PDP chief will also seek anticipatory bail from the Bangalore Sessions court, he said.
