Kozhikode, Thursday, January 13, 2011: A scuffle broke out between the Police and the local people today morning at Eranhipalam after a student’s bike overturned during helmet checking. The police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the agitated mob and in the brawl, many were injured.

The accident happened when traffic Sub Inspector and his team were checking vehicles. The bike overturned when the police manhandled the student for not wearing helmet. Students and local people besieged the road when the student was injured.
