Lay off: Labour dept. intervenes   Lay

Thiruvananthapuram, Sunday, November 02, 2008: The Labour Department has decided to intervene in the ibs layoff issue. Speaking to a private channel PK Gurudasan Minister for Labour said, the department would conduct an inquiry into the incident and labour department officials would visit Technopark to find out whether the company has flouted labour laws in the name of global recession.

One of the most reputed software companies in Technopark IBS software started layoff process last week and till now 120 employees were issued pink slips by the management.

However, the management of the company has denied the reports that the job cuts took place because of Global recession and said the action came after the review of annual performance report.
