Thiruvananthapuram, Monday, July 19, 2010: Chief Minister V.S Achuthanandan today told that the Planning Commission’s argument on the Kochi metro rail project was absurd. The Planning commission had expressed that the project wouldn’t be profitable if was implemented.
Speaking in MPs meeting in Thiruvananthapuram, Achuthanandan added that with the completion of the Vallarppadam terminal and the second phase of the Info Park, the journey in Kochi would become jam packed and for that the MPs from the State should pressurize the Centre for the implementation of the Kochi metro project.
V.S asserted that an attempt must be made for fulfilling the projects like the Palakkad coach factory and the Cherthala wagon factory.
