Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday, May 04, 2011: Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran today gave direction to the Plantation Corporation to give Rs 5 crore as compensation to the endosulfan victims.

The direction was given after the high level meeting convened by the Minister to discuss about regulation of pesticides. The Minister added that the State Government will also give financial aid to endosulfan victims.

The government has taken certain steps to control the use of pesticides, including making prescription mandatory for the sale.
