Thiruvananthapuram, Sunday, April 04, 2010: C P Narayanan who was earlier named to be the political secretary of Chief Minister by the CPM state secretariat has handed over a letter to the state secretariat stating that he is not keen in taking over as the political secretary to the Chief minister. C P Narayanan is also a member of the Planning Commission.

The CPM had decided to make Narayanan as the political secretary following the election of T N Balagopal, who was the political secretary, to the Rajya Sabha. Meantime, VS had asked the party national leadership not to make Narayanan, who was once the close aide of VS, his political secretary.
